Title:
Quantum Error Correction using FPGA Based Hardware
Abstract:
Large scale general purpose quantum computing is a difficult challenge due to the inherent instability of physical qubits. The problem is exacerbated by the no-cloning theorem which prevents copying of qubits and thus classical error correction. Thus novel quantum error correction schemes need to be employed which will allow for fault tolerant quantum computers. Such quantum error correction works by using multiple physical qubits to encode a single logical qubit and lots of classical computation to detect and correct errors.
In this talk we will give an overview of our work to algorithmic improvements of the classical computations as well as how FPGA based hardware can be used to meet the stringent timing requirements. We will also talk about scaling issues for large scale quantum computers and approaches of how these difficulties can be overcome.

Title:
Evaluation of a traffic flow field’s social dilemma emerged due to the lane-change by follower’s threatened effect
Abstract:
In this study, we developed a Cellular Automata (CA) traffic model to investigate the social dilemma that emerged for the defector drivers in a traffic flow system, who are highly aggressive in driving and impose threatened effects on their preceding vehicle. The evolutionary game theory, which is one of the most efficient tools in the decision-making process, has been utilized to identify the Social Efficiency Deficit (SED) which means the dilemma strength of those games. We introduced a new lane-changing protocol for the preceding vehicle, considering the threatening effects given by the aggressive follower. This investigation explored several case studies defining various strategies for cofactor and defector. We experienced the Prisoner’s Dilemma (PD) game and the Quasi-Prisoner’s Dilemma game with diverse SED based on the cooperators' and defectors’ strategies.
