TOP    Events & Outreach    Schools    Report on the RIKEN International HPC Spring School 2025 - Toward Society 5.0

From Wednesday, January 15 to Friday, January 17, 2025, RIKEN International HPC Spring School 2025 was held online and onsite. The spring school was held the third time as a program to interest students and young researchers in entering the field of computing and related technology. This year’s spring school had a total of 34 participants, including students (graduate students), and researchers.
Participants learned about parallel programming in both theory and practice and the skills they need to master them through lectures by Senior Scientist Atsushi Suzuki(RIKEN). Participants also had the opportunity to experience hands-on training sessions with the supercomputer Fugaku.

Comments from the partcipants inculuded,
“I find the communication via Zoom and Slack to be very smooth. The advance upload of materials helps us preview the course content and prepare accordingly. Being able to communicate and ask questions in real-time during lectures also ensures that students can grasp the key points effectively.”
“It was a productive discussion between the other participants.”
“I think they were objective, straight to the point, and that the lecturer had a great expertise on everything he was presenting.”
We hope to welcome many more participants in the coming years!
