RIKEN International HPC Summer School 2020 - Toward Society 5.0 -
JapaneseThis school is "fully online".
RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) will be holding a summer school to give young researchers in computational science an opportunity to learn programming techniques for parallel computers, aiming to foster scientists who will lead the field on the international stage in the future for the realization of Society 5.0. Scientists from R-CCS will provide lectures and Oakbridge-CX Supercomputer System (The University of Tokyo) will be used for hands-on training. This program will be provided in English.

Qualifications
Eligible individuals are as follows.
- Students who reside in Japan and are enrolled in a Ph.D. program, post-doctoral scientists and early career scientists affiliated with universities or research institutions.
- Scientists and engineers affiliated with private companies
Please understand that individuals who do not meet requirements shown below may be declined to participate in the program.
- Ideal participants have programming experience using C or Fortran, have used Linux
- (at least can use an editor on Linux), and have basic parallel programing experience.
- Bring your own laptop computer with you for the summer school.
- Non-residents in Japan need to consult with us for participation as use of supercomputers is restricted to only residents in Japan by the related law.
- Due to the increased risk of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we may change this school to be held online. Please be aware that you need an internet environment as follows if it held online.
-Network bandwidth with a stable connection when using video and audio for the teleconference system such as Blue Jeans.
-Possible to connect remotely to super computer by using Secure Shell.
