Launch of the international initiative for "FugakuNEXT" development Ceremony (August 22, 2025)

On August 22, 2025, RIKEN holds a commemorative ceremony to mark the launch of the development framework for Japan’s next flagship supercomputing system, codenamed "FugakuNEXT," the successor to the supercomputer Fugaku. As already announced, the basic design of the overall system, compute nodes, and CPU components of FugakuNEXT is being advanced jointly by RIKEN and Fujitsu Limited. On this occasion, with the decision to appoint NVIDIA Corporation as the partner company responsible for the accelerator component, the full development framework has now been established.

The ceremony will be attended only by representatives from RIKEN, Fujitsu, NVIDIA, and related parties, including members of the press. However, a recording of the event will be made available at a later date on RIKEN’s official YouTube channel.
