JapaneseConsidering the impact on the health of participants, this summer school is canceled due to the increased risk of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the world.
The next International HPC Summer School has been planned to take place in July 2021 in Toronto, Canada.
The RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) is calling for applications to attend the International HPC Summer School 2020 which R-CCS will be co-hosting with other research institutes in Europe, the US and Canada. R-CCS will invite approx. 10 selected young applicants to the program. If you are interested in applying, please read the information and apply through the International HPC Summer School (IHPCSS) website.

Purpose
The international summer school will provide an opportunity for young researchers to broaden their perspective and acquire new knowledge through lectures and workshops offered by the leading scientists in the HPC field and to network with other participants from many parts of the world. The objective is to foster young scientists who can lead future advances in the HPC field.
This program started as the European-U.S. Summer School on HPC Challenges in Computational Sciences. Japan participated for the first time in 2013 and Canada followed in 2014. This year’s event will be the 11th International Summer School on HPC Challenges in Computational Sciences.
Events
Leading European, Canadian, Japanese and American computational scientists and HPC technologists will offer instruction on a variety of topics, including:
- HPC and Big Data challenges in major scientific discipline
- HPC Programming Proficiencies
- Performance analysis and profiling
- Software engineering
- Numerical libraries
- Big data analysis and analytics
- Deep learning
- Scientific visualization
- Canadian, Europe, Japanese and U.S. HPC infrastructures
