Abstract

We evaluated the processor A64FX used in the supercomputer Fugaku using the SPEC CPU and SPEC OMP benchmark suites. As a result, the A64FX SPEC CPU int was lower than the Xeon, but the SPEC CPU fp was better than the Xeon when evaluated in terms of performance per socket. In SPEC OMP, due to the effect of Xeon's Hyperthread, it was lower than Xeon even per socket, but in some benchmarks it was significantly higher due to the high memory bandwidth. In addition, by comparing the performance and power using the power control mechanism of A64FX and enabling core retention, it was confirmed that power can be reduced without affecting the performance when not using all cores.
