The Asia HPC Leadership Award was presented to the R-CCS Director Satoshi Matsuoka on March 12, 2019 at Supercomputing Asia 2019.

The Asia HPC Leadership Award is given to people who have conducted research and development in high-performance computing for a long time to demonstrate the excellence and leadership in Asia-Pacific.

Dr. Matsuoka says,"It is an honor to have received this award which recognizes leadership for HPC in Asia. As a director of RIKEN R-CCS, I will enhance my efforts to deploy the next-generation post-K supercomputer, as well as conduct research on convergence of HPC with Big Data/AI, as well as investigating the future of HPC in the upcoming post-Moore era."
