Glycans are crucial in COVID-19 infection

A group of researchers led by Yuji Sugita of the Computational Biophysics Research Team has found that the glycan part of the spike protein of the novel coronavirus plays an important role in the process of invading human cells. The discovery was based on simulations using the supercomputer Fugaku.
